Jordan Brand has always been self-referential throughout its 36-year history. The NIKE, Inc. subsidiary's Jordan 1 Low Diamond Shorts is the Air Jordan 1 Low, which features a diamond detail similar to that seen on its apparel.
The colour scheme of the Jordan 1 Low Diamond Shorts’s off-white and black isn't new to the silhouette, but the layout is. The majority of the upper is made of nubuck, with "colourless" leather on the toe box, profile swooshes, and bottom heel overlay. The "Wings" insignias at the back, as well as the branding on the tongue label, are black. Jumpman logos, on the other hand, are encased in a "diamond" shape that has appeared on Jordan Brand basketball shorts. The semi-translucent, light grey sole units on the low-top Air Jordan 1 complete the sneaker's understated makeup.
The Air Jordan 1 Low was originally released in several colourways, mirroring the High releases and served as a casual take on the signature high-top. Apart from basketball players, there was another group who immediately took to the AJ1 Low – skateboarders. The skateboarders found that the low-top was more comfortable for tricks.
